Phase 1

New High School | $9.5 million (estimated cost)
PHASE I

The Loyola Sacred Heart High School building has served us well for decades, but it no longer fits the needs of our students. Along with decades of wear and tear, the building lacks many of the modern educational essentials needed to give our students the tools to succeed in today’s fast-paced world.

We need a new high school facility designed to support students’ competence and collaboration, a safe environment that fosters inclusion and forges connections. We want more than a school building – we want a full high school campus, complete with athletic facilities adjacent, a chapel, community gathering spaces and modern learning spaces with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) focus. Our new high school building will feature the innovative technology and modern resources that are vital as we guide our students toward successful futures.

Like our desire to instill strong values and core competencies in our students, so too will the actual building: its design, construction and maintenance phases are intentionally designed as environmentally responsible and resource efficient. The structure will employ real-world STEAM teachings to ensure the quality, longevity and impact remains true for future generations of students.

We are far beyond the contemplative stages with this goal: We have the blessing of the Diocese of Helena and lead gifts secured to enable us to move forward with seriousness of purpose. Completed construction plans are currently under review, and permitting and construction will begin in 2024. We anticipate opening the doors for the new building in 2025.

“Missoula Catholic Schools play a critical role in the greater Missoula community and their impact can be felt in so many ways. Most importantly, they equip and
challenge our students, faculty, and school families to bring the love of Jesus Christ into our communities. This new high school and other necessary projects
will help our schools broaden and deepen their impact significantly. As we have seen, the need for excellent, authentic Catholic education will continue to grow. Now is a pivotal moment to support the mission of Missoula Catholic Schools and the Missoula Catholic Schools Foundation.”

Enhance Our Endowment $2 Million

The MCS endowment, which now sits at $5.4 million, is crucial to our mission. It funds our robust tuition assistance program and provides operational support to both schools, including allowing MCS to offer competitive teacher salaries. An increased endowment would allow us to expand and enhance our impact. A $2 million boost would allow MCS to support an aggressive financial aid program and increase teacher salaries.

Tuition Assistance
• An opportunity to support all MCS students
• 2023-2024 Foundation’s financial contribution for MCS Schools is $830,000

Teacher Salaries
• Continue to increase to public school levels

Additional Maintenance Needs
• New, larger facilities
• New fields
• Additional parking lots

A robust endowment will enable Loyola Sacred Heart to welcome students and families of all faith backgrounds. MCS is committed to providing tuition support to any family in need who desires a Catholic education.

"Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God."

Elementary School Renovations | $2 million (estimated cost)
PHASE II

Thousands of students have walked the halls and learned in the classrooms of St. Joseph School over the past 67 years. The decades of use have taken a toll, leaving behind significant wear and tear – and our facilities have never received major renovations or upgrades. To keep pace with growth and educational advances, St. Joseph School needs comprehensive renovations, including the addition of a middle school wing. Expansion would allow us to accommodate all families who desire a Catholic education for their children. Leadership continues to develop this goal and as such, we do not have final facilities plans nor cost estimates.
__________________________

Among the needs:
• Addition of a middle school wing.
• Ensure enough classrooms for two classes per grade level.
• Dedicated space for our fine arts programs and library.
• Updated science labs and technology center.
• Expanded essential facilities (restrooms, lockers, cafeteria, etc.) to accommodate more students.

Renovate Rollin Field Complex | $2 million (estimated cost)
The construction of the high school will necessitate adjustments to the other parts of the campus. The Rollin Field Complex has served our students well for 62 years but it is time to modernize the Complex to field safe and competitive teams well into the future.
• Rollin Field to be resurfaced with new grass
• Reposition softball field
• Surface four-lane track
• Create new parking lot
• Paint Sister Rita Mudd Activity Center in corresponding color

Loyola Sacred Heart is welcoming to students and families of all faith backgrounds and is committed to providing tuition support to any family in need who desires a Catholic education.
